1. The competition is open to all students living on planet Earth.

2. The deadline is August 31, 2006 at midnight GMT. All artwork received after this date will not be eligible for the competition.

3. The artwork can be a painting, drawing, collage, photography, digital, or a reproduction of a three-dimensional sculpture. All artwork entries must be sent to our planet Earth address at: French Connection Press, 12 rue Lamartine, 75009 Paris, France. All Earthling artists who wish their original artwork to be returned after the contest must include a check, money order, or international reply coupons to cover the cost of postage. Any questions regarding the contest may be emailed to us at:infopress@club-internet.fr (no attachments, please).

4. The artwork has to illustrate or be directly inspired by at least one of the seven stories by Felice Picano in Tales: from a Distant Planet.

5. Each artist may submit one artwork for each of the seven stories.

6. In order to submit, the artist must complete the entry form available here online or email us atinfopress@club-internet.fr to have it sent to their address or faxed to their school. Only one artist per registration form, please.

7. All submitted artwork will be examined by a jury of three professional artists who will select one best artwork for each story. (By submitting their artwork, the artists agree to comply to the rules of the competition and grant all rights to French Connection Press for reproducing the winning artwork and for announcing their names to the press and media.)

8. The seven winning works (one for each story) will be featured in black-and-white in an upcoming reprint of Tales: from a Distant Planet. The Earthling winners will not only receive a winner’s certificate, an autographed copy of the book, and a gift certificate—worth $100.00 (U.S. dollars) as honorarium for the reproduction of their artwork—but honorable mention in the book as: “Winner of The Tales: from a Distant Planet Artwork Competition.”
