Public Performance Licensing

French Connection Films has been a proud provider of many factual documentaries that have served schools, non-profits and community groups around the world.

Under The Copyright Act, any viewing or exhibition of a video (in full or partial form) in a public place must have Public Performance Rights.

If you are interested in screening one of our films or licensing a DVD for educational, institutional, or any other public use, please fill out the request form on your right.

For further information regarding the different types of licenses, please see below:

Public Performance Screening

To host a one-time “public performance” screening at your school, community venue, film festival or event, please fill out the screening request form on your right. Within 48 hours, someone from our team will contact you with additional information on the screening fees and next steps. Depending on the time/place of the screening, it is also possible to request the director and/or a member of the film to speak at your screening.

Public Performance Rights

If your organization is interested in having one of our films available on an ongoing basis (i.e. classroom teachings, workshop, library loan), you are required to obtain an institutional/educational license from us, which will allow you to legally show the film within your organization to small/medium-sized groups in a non-profit environment only.

Public Performance Rights are required for:

  • schools
  • universities
  • libraries
  • corporations
  • community centers
  • institutions
  • workshops
  • exhibitions
  • classroom screenings

To obtain a license, please consult the different “types” of licenses below and indicate which one matches your institution or school when filling out the request form on your right.
